Travis Kapp, LPC (he/him), counselor at Lansing Counseling
While navigating through life we are often presented with struggles and challenges that may be difficult to resolve on our own and require guidance and support from someone to successfully push through these challenges with positive outcomes. As a therapist, this is where I come in; I intend to provide individuals (families and couples) a safe haven to explore and work through any area(s) of your life in which you desire to change and/or improve. It is of great importance to me that the client/therapist relationship is established upon openness, candid, with active communication on behalf of both, the client and the therapist.
My theoretical approaches to counseling include psychoanalysis, cognitive behavioral therapy, existentialism, person-centered, eclectic, and narrative therapy. Life may give you experiences that might not be so great, and therefore requires the assistance of a professional counselor to get back on track towards living the life you intend.
I have focus in the areas of anxiety, depression, life transitions (and adjustments), trauma such as sexual abuse, grief and loss, and low self-esteem. I have substantial experience working with children, teens, and young adults with ages ranging from 7 to 30 years old. I have in-depth experience working with LGTBQA+.
